Fascism, as late-stage capitalism, is rising all over the world. Unfortunately, our country is no exception.
Over the weekend, our far-right extremist party started a new nationalist youth organisation. Name anything undesirable, such as being racist, misogynist, or homophobic, and they will endorse and praise it as “manly” and “German”.
Around 50,000 people from across Germany gathered at the convention site in Giessen to protest the new nationalist organisation and protect our open society.
However, instead of supporting the movement against the fascists, our ruling “Christian Democrats”, together with the police, decided to quell the protests and protect the nationalist convention.
They brought in several thousand riot police from all over Germany and gave them free rein to beat up the protesters, which they gleefully did.
Once we have recovered from this right-wing backlash and returned to a humanist society, we must disband the riot police and cut their funding; furthermore, we will then need to offer the individual members resocialization programs to enable them to reintegrate into society.
