War in Europe, week 30

Summer has given way to fall, and the tsar is still butchering people.

There is less and less Russian energy coming into Europe, so we’re looking at a relatively cold winter – the real hardship is in the occupied parts of Ukraine, though. And we need to do all we can to support the people there.

Unlike our government, which remains quite timid in its actions.

Next Friday is the next Global Climate Strike – more needed than ever! Many energy lobbyists use the war as a pretense to breathe new life into their dead but still lucrative fossil fuel businesses.

200!

After a little more than a year I’ve managed to reach my second last milestone of 200 lbs. (90 kg) – 25 lbs. (10 kg) more to go until I’ll reach my 2020 goal of a “normal” BMI.

Huge shoutout to my coach, Tanja Schlagenhauf – I wouldn’t be here without her counselling and advice – thank you!

Happy Holidays!

Today is Winter solstice, the shortest day of the year – from tomorrow onwards, it will be getting brighter every day

I’m quite happy about the quiet time between the years, time to reconnect with friends and family, and relax a bit from the daily grind; I’ve bought all presents, finished all work tasks, a bit of cleaning in the morrow and I’m all set

I wish all of you a joyful time and all the best for the new year!

Low Carb

After my recent fallout with my dietician I was lucky enough to find a trustworthy new one in a rather short time frame, and I can say I’m quite happy.

I really enjoy if someone takes me seriously and explains the background details of a diet and change of lifestyle, and slowly but surely I’m incorporating the diet (and some exercise) into my daily life.

To put it with Cody Wanner: Let’s do this thing!

New Dietician

A couple of weeks ago I started a medically supervised diet of the low-carb variety, or least that was what I thought.

The initial diet protocol looked to me like a slightly modified Keto or New-Atkins plan, however, I got a little bit suspicious when I found out about the added (costly) Ozone therapy and (even more costly) daily injections; after I felt really ill for a couple of days I started to research on Google – definitely something I should have done earlier.

It turned out that the good doctor was using the highly controversial hCG diet protocol, as documented on hcgdietinfo.com and hCG-Diet respectively, without telling me; and I really don’t want to know what the injections were …

Needless to say that we parted ways immediately.

Luckily for me I found a respected Keto practitioner nearby, so I will be able to continue.

Lesson learned:

  • Don’t ever skimp on background checks

Starting a diet

In addition to starting University again on Monday, I also decided to start working on loosing weight.

Together with my GP, Dr. Fevci Cebe, I’ll start a medically supervised diet of the low-carb variety. Did I mention that I love Pasta?

Not on the menu for the next couple of weeks . Smile

Wish me luck!
