{"id":613,"date":"2019-11-16T08:01:43","date_gmt":"2019-11-16T13:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chfrank.net\/wordpress\/?p=613"},"modified":"2019-11-16T08:01:43","modified_gmt":"2019-11-16T13:01:43","slug":"vagabundo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chfrank.net\/wordpress\/2019\/11\/16\/vagabundo\/","title":{"rendered":"Vagabundo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the winter developer&#8217;s conference at <a href=\"https:\/\/senacor.com\/\">Senacor Technologies AG<\/a> in Nuremberg, they presented a nice little tool to measure and offset carbon dioxide emissions during business travel.<\/p>\n<p>The tool is called <a href=\"http:\/\/vagabundo.green\/start\">Vagabundo<\/a> and is realized using a serverless framework; it collects data from all business travels, calculates CO2 emissions and offsets them through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atmosfair.de\/en\/\">Atmosfair<\/a> &#8211; great approach at using technology to protect our climate!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s currently an in-house project, but Senacor seemed amiable to open-source it.<\/p>\n<p>Much more than the offsetting part, I like the reporting &#8211; how much CO2 do I emit during travel and how could I optimize it? <\/p>\n<p>Taking this a step further, I could see creating internal (team) competitions &#8211; who&#8217;s the best at having video conferences instead of in-person meetings?
