{"id":1642,"date":"2022-07-31T05:39:02","date_gmt":"2022-07-31T09:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chfrank.net\/wordpress\/?p=1642"},"modified":"2022-07-31T05:39:02","modified_gmt":"2022-07-31T09:39:02","slug":"war-in-europe-week-twenty-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chfrank.net\/wordpress\/2022\/07\/31\/war-in-europe-week-twenty-three\/","title":{"rendered":"War in Europe, week twenty-three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The heat has lessened, but the crises remain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Tsar is trying to expand his empire and murdering everyone standing in his way; he&#8217;s showing his apparent disdain for western democracy and our open and tolerant way of life.\n<li>Prices are rising, especially for energy, and might soon lead to social unrest.\n<li>The climate is collapsing since we&#8217;re not stopping the use of fossil fuels fast enough.\n<li>Pandemics are on the rise, and we&#8217;re not acting fast enough for fear of upsetting a vocal minority of fear mongers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sometimes I miss the early 2000s when I still believed flying, driving a car, or eating meat and animal products were okay. And sometimes, I feel powerless as an individual looking at the magnitude of change that will be necessary to survive as a species.<\/p>\n<p>So, what can we do?
